The Arizona Commerce Authority recognized Serious Integrated, Inc. today as one of the top innovative technology companies in Arizona and a winner of the 2012 Arizona Innovation Challenge. A panel of expert judges evaluated companies on a set of criteria including technology potential, marketing strategy, management team and the potential for job and wealth creation. Six companies were chosen out of more than 200 applicants to share $1.5M in grant funding to further accelerate growth.
“We are honored to be recognized as a leading technology innovator in Arizona”, said Terry West, Serious CEO. “Our company continues to grow and innovate rapidly as the demand for touch/graphic displays expands. Serious continues to make significant breakthroughs working with our customers to bring this technology beyond the smart phone to millions of other devices.”
The challenge — which is the largest financial prize of its kind in the country — advances innovation and technology commercialization opportunities in Arizona by supporting early stage ventures in Arizona’s targeted industries of renewable energy and sustainability, bio and life sciences, electronics, information technologies, aerospace and defense and advanced manufacturing. The ACA doubled its commitment to the Arizona Innovation Challenge for 2012 by committing $3 million to the program over two rounds of competition.
